Palm Desert, California. One of my all-time favorite destinations. It has become a family tradition throughout the years to spend our President’s Day weekend at the La Quinta Resort & Club . Being a college student, I could only escape the cold weather in Spokane for a few days this year, but while I was there I made sure to make the most of my vacation! It’s hard not to with such a lovely resort like this!
With the warm, sunny days you can typically find my sisters and I by the pool, soaking up the sun for as long as possible. They could do this for days on end while I like to explore a little of what Palm Desert has to offer! I convinced them to take a break from lounging by the pool to sneak away for a shopping trip to The Gardens on El Paseo with me. Only about a 15-minute trip from our house, it’s easily one of my favorite places to shop and favorite things to do in the Desert.
El Paseo is a picture-perfect shopping experience with palm trees lining the sidewalks and streets. Beautiful fountains and landscaping surround the stores making your time there even more enjoyable.
From the second I first turned on El Paseo Drive, I could instantly tell that I was in for a treat with all my favorite stores at my fingertips. We quickly found ourselves browsing through Anthropologie, J. Crew, Tommy Bahama, Kate Spade, and Louis Vuitton—just to name a few. I could have wandered through these stores for hours, admiring all the fashion and trinkets that caught my eye.
Luckily, we stayed late enough to see the street light up as the sunlight quickly turned to dusk. With each palm tree draped in lights, no matter what time of day, El Paseo oozes glitz and glam…Which is my kind of area!
If you’re shopping on El Paseo, it is a definite MUST that you eat at the Tommy Bahama Restaurant! Tommy Bahama has been a favorite of mine since I was a child. On vacation if there is a Tommy Bahama restaurant, my family is sure to enjoy a delicious meal (or maybe two!) there. The atmosphere and the vibe makes me feel as though I’m steps from the tropical sun and the ocean. Not to mention, it gives me an excuse to shop at their clothing store and almost convince my dad to let me get an Aruba Half-Zip sweatshirt. (Pictured above!)
If you find yourself looking for a good time on a sunny day in Palm Desert, stop by The Gardens and get your shopping on! Just let me know and I’ll meet ya there 😉
Kisses,
Abigail
