Since I can remember, I’ve always dreamed of visiting NYC. Being a performer, I had always wondered what the Big Apple was like in case I ever decided to move there!
I’m gonna fill you in on my three MUST go-tos when visiting the City That Never Sleeps!
Black Tap NYC
These milkshakes might look familiar to you… They should if you’ve ever been on Instagram or Pinterest! These crazy-delicious treats have been plastered all over the internet and if you’re like us, you’ve always dreamed of having one! Being that Ashley and I have insane sweet tooths, we could barely wait to try these!
On our first night, we were all starving so we got back to our hotel and found the nearest Black Tap for dinner and milkshakes!
Black Tap has a huge selection of delicious burgers where anyone can find something they love! The atmosphere, the giant milkshakes like you’ve never seen before, and the yummy food made this place a definite must have while in NYC.
The little chubby 10-year-old Abigail’s dream was to be on Broadway. I had my sights set on Juilliard and to eventually move to NYC after where I’d make my big debut. Although my dreams have changed since then, I’ve never stopped having a love for Broadway.
We decided we were going to take advantage of saving some dough as tickets for good seats can be pretty pricey! For those of you hoping to see a show, on the day of the show, arrive to the TKTS booth located in Times Square. For an 8pm showing, arrive at 3pm for a majorly discounted show! We were able to get 4 tickets for a Saturday night show for 50% off! And let me tell you, our seats were amazing! We scored with some second row seats right in the orchestra.
We were debating on which show to see, but ultimately we wanted that true and blue broadway show, so we went with Chicago…And boy are we GLAD we did! It truly was the most amazing show I’ve ever seen and we couldn’t stop talking about the talent we saw. We even passed the lead of the show, Roxie, the next day!
For those of you who don’t know me, let me tell you that my all time favorite food is a bagel. I eat one almost every morning for breakfast–I truly can’t get enough! I had always heard that once you have a NY bagel, you’ll never be able to eat another one again…And let me tell you, they were quite right! They were so delicious that I brought a bag full of bagels home with me in my suitcase! (yes I know, please don’t judge)
Ess-A-Bagel is known as one of the best bagel shops in NYC and it did not dissapoint. Every morning, it was packed with people getting their breakfast sandwiches or toasted bagels with an assortment of cream cheeses. To give you a peek at how yummy they were, out of the 5 morning that we were there, we went 4 of them!
Now even if you don’t love bagels as much as I do, it is still a shop that you must go to! If you take my advice, feel free to bring back a dozen (or 5) home for me! 😉
