Glamming the Globe

All About the Vibes

in Abigail, Lifestyle on 07/03/17

I believe your bedroom is the most important room in your home. It’s your resting place and a reflection of who you are as a person. As I just moved home from college for the summer, I decided it was time for a change of scenery.

Now, I’m not the best decorator nor expert on feng shui, ( So–shoutout to Ashley for helping me with the design!) but I knew exactly the vision I had for my room to give me the peace and harmony I was looking for. I researched feng shui methods, coloring, and placement so that my room would be just right.

My room has truly been transformed and let me tell you why. I wanted to share some ideas that might help add more harmony, positive vibes, and peacefulness to your room!

1. Decide what you want your room to reflect: Choose your COLORS wisely!

As you can see, I knew I wanted yellows, oranges, and whites.

Yellow: Positive Energy, Health

Orange: Happiness, Energizing, Optimism

White: Clarity, Clearness

2. Himalayan Salt Lamp

I’m your typical type A individual who can use all the stress relief I can get. This salt lamp is amazing and I’m so happy I picked one up! It not only releases negative ions to connect with the positive ions released from your electronics in your room to create a healthier space, but it also offers many other health benefits. It can help reduce anxiety, aid in better sleep, and ultimately increase your mood! I picked mine up at Home Goods–They’re super easy to find!

3. Pick a Scent that Calms

Every time I walk into my room, I’m greeted with a calming aroma that I just love. I have candles everywhere so that I can pick the perfect scent for the mood I’m in.

4. Lighting

I hung these fun white lights to accent the Orange, Yellow, and faint Blues of my room. Whenever I want peace and time to recharge in my room after a long day, I feel energized and relaxed with these white lights illuminating my room.

Overall, it’s important to know what colors and decorations you can add to your room to enhance the person you are and how you want to feel each day! I hope these tips will come in handy next time you decide to spruce up your bedroom or home!
