Are you tired of all those ugly Christmas sweater parties like we are? Maybe you aren’t, but this will be something you must try. This year, us sisters decided to go a different direction for our holiday party! We turned our annual Christmas party into a BUNCO CHRISTMAS PAJAMA PARTY.
Lucky for us girls, we get a fresh new set of PJs every Christmas Eve to wear to bed and into Christmas morning… and usually through the next day too… anyone else with me on that? It is a family tradition and I know some of our friends also have this tradition as well. It’s actually something the Graham girls always associate with the holidays.
So for this year’s party, we thought we’d incorporate our love of Christmas PJs – and guess what? Everyone loved it! All our friends rolled up in their morning jammies, including socks, slippers and even a onesie. It was very easy for our guests too because everyone owns PJs which meant no one had to go out and look for an ugly Christmas Sweater. The best part is that after a fun night of bunco and drinking, everyone was able to head on home and plop straight into bed. No need to even change because you were already in your pajamas!
When I throw a party, I want my guests to feel special. The minute they walk in, I want them to smell the food, see the fun decor, and immediately feel the holiday spirit and Christmas joy. Most of the time, Hayley, Abigail and I are mixing friend groups, so creating an exciting and welcoming environment is very important to us for hosting a successful party.
We picked a few areas to sparkle our guests with:
1. A signature cocktail
2. Photo booth backdrop
3. Bunco baskets
4. Holiday cheer- aka Santa party hats
To lessen the stress of throwing a party, we asked each couple to bring a yummy dish and their favorite beverage. Remember – it is okay to ask your guests to bring things to a party. It gives them an opportunity to showcase their favorite snack, dessert or cocktail. No one likes showing up empty handed anyway, so just remember that fun fact and don’t be shy!
Here are some fun photos of the party! We can wait until next year. We may even have to do a prize for the best Christmas PJs.
